Route 29: 001

Right, so after studying up on the pokedex, I’m going to need to know the best ways to routes 10 and 11 in Kanto as well as 37 Johto. I’m looking for some of these little guys in particular, and that’s where the Pokedex says they are.

Don’t think it’s going to be easy, because it never really is. But they’re going to come in more than a little handy while I have to re-establish myself. Not something really new, though the location has changed quite a bit.

But then again, some guy in a lab coat pointed out to me the more I use the bird, the more useful it'll be. And if making it strong while I get these other ones I'll need, well that's going to work in both our favours.

Also, these need names, right? Because if I have to call it what it's screeching, well, that's just going to really get on my nerves to be honest.

I get the feeling that I'm going to want to see this happen at some point in time.

Well, one of the species groups has it so you can breed a whale to something size of my fist so... yeah, good luck sorting that one out.

These Pokemon really don't follow natural laws from my home, that's for sure.

...I don't think they follow natural laws from anyone's home.

I really should find that more disturbing than I do. Not to sure how I should feel about that.

I've had major surgery in a cave. This isn't really all that shocking. Just.

Confusing.

I totally get confusing. I mean, this place totally gyps out abilities too. I mean, I can't do even a chunk of what I used to be able to outside of, you know, hand to hand and whatnot.

Other than being a genius, I didn't really have any spectacular powers or abilities. Not mush of a problem for me.

Well, considering I'm in some strange world without my suit or JARVIS to help me get more information.

Everyone has the Gear and that's about it for intel yeah. Better system than I'm used to.

Well, JARVIS is beyond state of the art. So this is kind of a, no. More of a fall back for me.

Something like this would have been banned on the field where I'm from. Too likely to get someone killed.

Technology could get someone killed? Okay, in the wrong hands I get it. But, this thing is pretty intuitive. Especially as I've seen kids with them.

If you're in a position where any noise at all can get you discovered and bring down the enemy on your head, you don't want something that lights up or makes noise of any kind on you that you can't predict perfectly. Outside communications can't be controlled entirely with these.

[Tony looks like he thinks about that kind of life then shakes his head.]

Doesn't sound like I'm going to book a holiday there any time soon.

You'd probably do better amid the civilians anyway, they're the ones that play with stuff like this.

I'm usually the kind of person who sells this kind of thing to civilians.

So, yes, pretty much. Shinobi stick to base radios if they're doing mission tech.

So, then if you're used to such tense living, how do you feel about here?

I like it here, but it's not home. Still, better than being dead by a lot.

Well a lot of things are better than being dead. And a world of freaky creatures is up there all right.

Exactly! After how I died I wouldn't have exactly had standards of living either. Eegh.

Yeah! Rocks fell, crushed more than half my body, then I gave the uncrushed eye to my teammate. Very dramatic.

Huh. Not really kidding about the whole 'very dramatic' thing Well, you're looking pretty good for a dead guy.
