Route 29: 001

Right, so after studying up on the pokedex, I’m going to need to know the best ways to routes 10 and 11 in Kanto as well as 37 Johto. I’m looking for some of these little guys in particular, and that’s where the Pokedex says they are.

Don’t think it’s going to be easy, because it never really is. But they’re going to come in more than a little handy while I have to re-establish myself. Not something really new, though the location has changed quite a bit.

But then again, some guy in a lab coat pointed out to me the more I use the bird, the more useful it'll be. And if making it strong while I get these other ones I'll need, well that's going to work in both our favours.

Also, these need names, right? Because if I have to call it what it's screeching, well, that's just going to really get on my nerves to be honest.

You got one of the talkers huh? If it helps, some of them speak human after they get old enough, but I don't think the birds are in that category at all.

[Have a teenager peering at you there.]

What kind of bird is it? The biggest ones can actually fly with people once they evolve up to it, though if you're a breeder or not makes a difference on if that works. Trainers have to get badges first.

Which ones are you looking for? And let's see! To route 37, just go straight from New Bark to Cherrygrove, then to Violet, then swing through Sudowoodo Crossing and you should be there.

And names are important, yep!

[A young man appears on the screen.]

Yep. If you train them enough, your Pokemon, which I assume is a flying-type bird Pokemon, will get stronger and learn new moves. Generally a good thing, since they're your main form of protection here and for catching new Pokemon.

As for names, it's generally a "yes" thing. Easier to give them names and call out for them in the long run.

What are you looking for? There's a huge breeder's convention in a couple days, you could probably just save time and buy an egg.

Names are helpful, yeah! What kinda Pokémon are you looking for? Maybe someone has eggs for you.

Pretty sure that the pokédex comes with a map, too. Just tossing that out there.

Depends, really--you could fly or ride something big enough, if you had it. Kanto's a little further off, but you can get a train in Goldenrod to get there.

Just follow the yellow brick road, Dorothy. It'll take you wherever you need to go.

I believe the most direct route to Kanto would be the Magnet Train in the Goldenrod City. I do not believe Route 10 is terribly far to the east from the opposite terminal.

And naming the Pokebeasts is not strictly necessary. I suppose. Though it seems a bit disrespectful an inconvenient to merely call them by their species name.
