Route 29: 002

 Don't know really how to start with this one. But one of my pokemon is kind of going disco fever on me. I've been looking through the Pokédex and trying to see what I can find on this, kind of coming with nothing here.

Can anyone help me out here?

[Looking down at Pep, she looks back at him shyly.]

Is this an evolution thing?

[She just snuggles into him more, burying her face into his shirt.]

[Steve smiles at her]

Seems so.

[pulling a little face, he strokes between her ears.]

Isn't evolving what Pokemon do? I mean, sure, dummy doesn't... But it's what happens?

For some yes, but not all of them. Carmen has a pokemon who's decided not to evolve, she said that some choose not to. There's a stone that actually helps them to not evolve.

Maybe Ms. Pep here just isn't ready to yet.

[arrogantalloy]

Carmen? Wait, you found Carmen Sandiego?

[Shakes his head, deciding that's not important.]

Well I don't think I need a stone for her not to evolve.

[He looks back down at Pep.]

Hey, Marshmallow fluff.

[She looks up slowly, half of her face hidden by his shirt.]

Any reason you don't want to evolve?

[Shaking her head she gives a bit of a sob before clinging to to him again.]

[pauses to think if he remembers her last name]

Is that her last name?

[talking more to himself]

[There's a slight glance and an eyeroll at Steve before going back to Pep.]

That's not telling me anything, kiddo.

[She sniffles then looks up at him. Babbles about her want to not evolve because what if she doesn't love him in the same way anymore. But as Tony doesn't speak a word of a pokemon language, Tony just stares at her not really sure what to do.]

[makes note to ask Carmen next time they talk]

Maybe you should see if Imogen's Espeon is willing to help you two talk.

You know that's probably a good idea. Where is she?

She can't be too far off.

[looks around from where he's at to see if he can see her near by]

Well, she's 18, cute, and traveling with three guys. And if I'm here, and you're here... Where's Thor?

[Tony's making a joke.. Mostly, but really he has no idea where she is right now.]

Best guess is she's off training. Thor as well.

[shakes his head with an amused look, he doesn't know where she is, but he can tell her Pokemon aren't weak, so he's not too worried]

[arrogantalloy]

Well. Looks like I'm just going to have to go and wait for her.

[He gives Pep another comforting pat as she keeps clinging to him.]

Keep an ear out for her instrument, she's easier to find if you do.

[gives him an encouraging smile]

Yeah, it's never really been my kind of music.

She needs to learn bass.

I find it nice to listen to.

[honestly curious now]

Do you know how to play any instruments?

[arrogantalloy]

Uh, a little bit of piano. A few chords. Not really a hobby I took up.

[He grins, a little. He can also sing, but he just doesn't talk about it because it's just one of those things he never brags about]

[he nods, looking thoughtful]

I had always wanted to take up an instrument, but didn't have the childhood for it.

[sickness + money = not likely to have even the chance to learn]

Well, you still have a few years left. I hear it's never too late to learn. If all else fails, I'll find you a kazoo.

I'll give it some thought when I get home. [raises his eyebrows at him, skeptical] You can keep your kazoo to yourself.

[arrogantalloy]

[Tony chuckles] You really want to leave a Kazoo in my hands? Because even I know that's a bad idea.

[starspangledavenger]

That's a good point. You can give it to me and I'll give it to Thor.

[arrogantalloy]

You know, I kind of what to see him play a kazoo now. I mean, how often is a "Norse god" going to come across something like that?

Without your help, not often I'm sure.

I promise that if it happens, I'll teach him 'Star Spangled Man'. He would probably find that an honor.
