[ When the feed comes on, Tony is sitting at a chair. He obviously has the camera resting on a table in front of him. He looks lost in thought and is looking off to the top right of the camera in the middle distance, it looks like he's been thinking very hard. After a few moments he licks his lips slowly.]

So, it looks like that I'm not as prepared for everything as I think.

I've made mistakes here. But that's not really new, I've always been a bit of a mess so really that's a statement that shouldn't really surprise anyone, I've never really been perfect, my track record alone really shows that, and even all my character defaults...

[He runs his hand over his lower jaw. while he takes a breath, realising he was going off track.]

I haven't been taking this place seriously. And it nearly cost someone their life, because I wasn't fast enough. So what I'm trying to say here is that. Well, I have to try harder, this.

[He fidgets with his hands]

This isn't a holiday, or a resort, so tell me... What's the best way to take on the gym leaders around here?

[Tony's been trying to post this for days, there have been a few moments where he's started recording only to turn it off again. So he's feeling kind of proud he was able to be more him than his persona to the public for once.]

Well then at least I don't have to worry about Pep, and Dummy against you then.

[They're the only two pokémon he has that haven't never left his active party, needless to say this means they've actually gotten a decent amount of training. Even if he was reluctant to train Pep when she was a Buneary.]

And I work hard, this is kind of important.

[A pause here as he scratches the back of his neck and heaves a little sigh. Not out of exasperation, but out of stress. Lots of things to do still.]

I'll let my Pokemon know we'll be having new companions around once you arrive in Olivine.

I'm sure that'll be all really exciting until they find out their mine.

[Tony's still more than aware that he annoys Hope more than a little, and wouldn't be surprised to find out it's trickled down.]

I have over forty Pokémon. You didn't expect to have met all of them in the span of a few months, did you?

Forty...?

Wow, and I thought 15 was getting a bit on the too many side.

[Completely unashamed about it. No shame whatsover. At all.] I just like Pokémon. They make decent companions.

[Read: lonely rich boy who never had a pet in his life.]

Well, they're not boring, that's for sure.

[Tony was that kind of kid too. He just built pets... Well, Dummy.]

Not boring, attentive and loyal. ... Depending on the temperament. But loyal, yes.

Understand you better than robots at least.

You'll have to program robots, and program them to learn. That takes time. A lot of it. Worth it in the end, but Pokémon take less time. More care, but far more worth it.

I have three and a computer that runs my house, my tower and works with me in my suits. I know the effort that goes into it.

Once you get a base line running, it really isn't all that hard to achieve.

And really, I'd call it about equal.

[Hope smiles ruefully, even if Tony cant see it. He made a fal'Cie but stopped before the project could even get off the ground. In an alternate timeline, he finished it and was murdered. It's the main reason why he stopped trying to make AIs, save for just a certain one.]

I know the effort into making them. I had made my own before.

But there's a difference between being able to talk to them and being able to touch them.

I... Do both. And really for programs they really give me too much lip in return.

[Oh Tony and your vaguely sentient creations.]

J.A.R.V.I.S is really bad for it actually.

It's a good thing I stopped then.

Debateable.

Me, I like J.A.R.V.I.S' company. Even if I tend to ignore him.

[To be honest. Without JARVIS, Tony's felt more than a little lonely, and feels uniquely stupid for still trying to talk to him in this world because he forgets he's not there.]

Debatable. [Why yes, he is indeed throwing it back to Tony.]

Some would find the Captain more annoying than helpful.

You know, repeating what I say doesn't make me any less right.

Well that just goes to prove that Captain isn't in JARVIS' league then.

Probably because I haven't described the Captain to you.

Which I likely will not.

[Because Lightning may be listening and give him a good wallop when they see each other again.]

You called an AI... "The Captain"? And you're worried why it's difficult to work with? That's.... Huh.

You assumed I named him. If I did, I would have given him something else, but the academy decided that as a learning aid, he needed something... catchy.

Alliterative. I preferred something more respectable.

Captain isn't catchy. Just makes people think of the sea. Is this academy a legit thing? Or are they just a bunch of people who just 'know better'?

The Academy is a science and research group working to better the lives of people after several catastrophes had threatened civilization and prevent yet another once from coming to pass.

[He is going to ignore your slight on his baby, thanks.]

Yeah, doesn't mean they're any good at naming things. Let me guess, they do a lot of wirk with focus groups?
