[Video] / [Action for teammates]

[ When the feed comes on, Tony is sitting at a chair. He obviously has the camera resting on a table in front of him. He looks lost in thought and is looking off to the top right of the camera in the middle distance, it looks like he's been thinking very hard. After a few moments he licks his lips slowly.]

So, it looks like that I'm not as prepared for everything as I think.

I've made mistakes here. But that's not really new, I've always been a bit of a mess so really that's a statement that shouldn't really surprise anyone, I've never really been perfect, my track record alone really shows that, and even all my character defaults...

[He runs his hand over his lower jaw. while he takes a breath, realising he was going off track.]

I haven't been taking this place seriously. And it nearly cost someone their life, because I wasn't fast enough. So what I'm trying to say here is that. Well, I have to try harder, this.

[He fidgets with his hands]

This isn't a holiday, or a resort, so tell me... What's the best way to take on the gym leaders around here?

[Tony's been trying to post this for days, there have been a few moments where he's started recording only to turn it off again. So he's feeling kind of proud he was able to be more him than his persona to the public for once.]

[Steve sees the feed and immediately gets up and makes his way over to Tony. Moving still isn't the easiest, but he still goes to find Tony, not saying anything when he finds the man at first, just walks over, resting a hand on his shoulder. He gives it a friendly squeeze before sitting in a free chair.]

You know, you're not at fault at all for what happened to me. If anything, you helped save me. Don't blame yourself for things that isn't your blame to take.

[He gives the man a kind smile, but keeps it otherwise mellow.]

Now that's just the thing, isn't it? I can't say I've fought many of 'em, but I would say there's one of two ways to do it.

First, there's the strategic way. All of the leaders seem to favor one specific type or another, and if that's your preference then you just need to figure out the types they're weak against.

Or you could use my special Lancer-approved method and just blast them right outta the water with brute force.

[He kinda wants to ask how Steve is. And then blocks the thought out of his head because things are awkward enough between them.

So he's giving his attention to Tony right here, right now.]

Exploiting their weaknesses is a common strategy. So is using overleveled Pokemon.

[Though Hope's tone says he has other ways of challenging gym leaders.]

[She's not making mention of or drawing attention to everything else he said, but she cocks her head anyway. best way to take on a gym leader? oh, there's plenty of ways.]

Use their weaknesses against them. Every Gym Leader has a type, and every type has a weakness. [Or more than one.] Getting the battle over with quickly is the best strategy.

[Of course it involves overleveling but the basic premise is the same. Get in, get the job done, get out. No fuss no muss no tears...unless Whitney's involved.]

It is difficult to truly be prepared for every eventuality. It involves a lot of planning, a lot of thinking possibilities through. It does take quite a bit of fortitude to be able to consider everything in a way to turn defeat into victory. There's no shame in admitting that a man is not omniscient, let alone perfect.

It seems a valuable lesson was learned. At least this individual is still alive, so there is no reason to grieve. Now is merely the time to look forward... as looking back too far will only cause you to trip over your feet.

[ She wants to ask, because it's in her nature to be concerned, but in the end she figures it's not her place to pry. This man is clearly having a hard enough time as it is. ]

Train hard- the Gym Leaders' pokémon get stronger the further into the region you get. Learn the strengths and weaknesses of both their pokémon and your own, and use what you can to your advantage.

Size is no match for a good type advantage. [ says the girl who is shorter than the majority of her team ]

...Yeah this place isn't exactly like the games. Team Rocket tried to set fire to the Sprout tower when I was still fresh to this place.

Anyway, best way to take on the Gym Leaders varies by who you're going after. If you're fighting with a specific team you got to account for their strengths, weaknesses - shit you probably already know or have been told. Which one are you going to take on first?

[Carol heard Tony making the post and went to stand in the doorway. She waits quietly for him to finish before speaking.]

You know what happened to Steve wasn't your fault.
